Led enterprise-wide Data Governance initiatives across major UK banks, consolidating policies into cohesive frameworks and advancing organizational maturity. Collaborated with business leads, data owners / stewards, and IT specialists to define data domains, roles, and KPI standards, ensuring regulatory compliance and consistent governance practices. Enhanced data quality and integrity through pragmatic data management, advanced analytics, and strengthened security and access controls for sensitive data. Embedded Data Governance into strategic operating models, supported change management across business units, and established a sustainable foundation for compliance, transparency, and long-term growth.
Established the Data Governance function in alignment with group strategy, introduced AI-driven techniques such as synthetic data to enhance data quality, and defined clear data roles supported by a Governance Committee and DG Working Group. We implemented Microsoft Purview for automated discovery, sensitive data classification, and full lineage, while delivering a Data Quality Log for the Real Estate Department and strengthening audit, monitoring, and remediation processes to advance governance maturity.
Partnering with a leading energy organization owned by several shareholders, we delivered a transformative data governance program. By implementing a robust policy framework, we advanced the company’s Data Governance maturity from Level 1 to Level 3, enabling stronger collaboration, regulatory compliance, and a scalable foundation for future growth..
